An Intriguing Start to the New Camelot Series

An Intriguing Start to the New Camelot Series
American Queen was a highly anticipated read for me, and while it evoked mixed emotions, it certainly made an impression. As the debut in the New Camelot series, it sets the stage with an intricate and captivating storyline, though readers should be prepared for a cliffhanger that leaves many questions unanswered. The narrative alternates between timelines, adding depth to the story, but it occasionally felt a bit disorienting. The writing itself is strong, weaving unexpected twists and keeping me engaged throughout. The unconventional love triangle between Greer, Ash, and Embry is a highlight of the story. Their complex and layered relationships bring both allure and tension, making the dynamics between them a driving force of the book. While American Queen didn’t entirely win me over, I can see why many readers are captivated by its charm and bold storytelling. I’m intrigued enough to continue with the series and see how the narrative evolves.Favorite Quote:"I want to go to the brink of not knowing myself, I want someone to take me there and hold me by the neck and make me stare at an entire reckless realm of possibility."Note: Readers should check the author’s website for trigger warnings, as the book’s blurb provides no insight into the themes explored.

"All along it was a fever
    A cold sweat hot-headed believer
I threw my hands in the air, said, "Show me something"
He said, "If you dare, come a little closer"
Round and around and around and around we go
Oh now, tell me now, tell me now, tell me now you know
Not really sure how to feel about it
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you
It takes me all the way
I want you to stay" - Rhianna, "Stay"

This...this level of intellectual eroticism woven with legend, thorough, yet still leaving mystery, character development and surprises in the unfolding and ever-expansive plot leaves the reader aching, breathless even without anchor for a time after the experience. It is almost as disassociative an experience as Greer, the "American Queen" experiences with her Dominant lover, Ash.
"American Queen" is the beginning of a highly imaginative saga with a jaw dropping love story of a threesome... an incredibly beautiful and complicated "menage a trois" at the center. This is Greer's story. This "little princess" is political royalty, groomed by her Grandfather who was a former Vice-President of the United States. He takes her under his wing after she is left an orphan. She is an ethereal beauty with spun white-gold hair and delicate features. She has been trained from a young child to have a insouciant air as she secretly watches and listens for careless words and slips of political masks at important social gatherings. Dutifully reporting back to her Grandfather.

It was at one of these gatherings that she met her first love, her King, "Ash". They shared but a few kisses, yet the desire, I daresay even love and sense of " potential sexual power exchange" was palpable in this meeting. She was only 16. He was her fairy tale lover and she emailed him with her girlish desires that step into the realm of submissive womanhood...

"What’s the point of sex if you don’t feel like every dark crevice of your soul has been exposed to the light? If someone doesn’t take your lust and your shameful thoughts, and twist them into a spell that leaves you panting like a dog for more? I think I want that for myself..." - Greer

Ash knew that this woman was made for him, but she was too young and he was immersed in fighting a war. The years went by without any word from him. On the night when Ash feels lost forever to Greer, she meets the second man that she will come to love and the third (Or was he the first?) in this love triangle, Embry.

Embry finds Greer in tears on the street. He is enchanted with her. They form an instant and lasting connection of love consummated by a night of mind bending passion. On this night they both share a secret, in fact it is the same secret but neither one of them knows.
Years later Embry, now the Vice President, asks Greer to come meet the President who is Ash. Greer cannot help herself when she finds that she still loves Embry, even though she is besotted, fulfilled and is a bona fide submissive in love with Ash, her Sir.

The author guides us slowly and gently into the love and passion the two men have for one another. The confusion that Greer felt. The anger she felt for Embry having been cast aside. The knowledge that it was Embry's rejection of Ash that made it possible for Ash to find her. Greer feels an inexplicable tug to experience these two men in their need for one another.

The reader will find themselves consumed with the passions that these three share among them. I was astonished, and naively so, at the jealousy each of them felt because of the other loving another. At times it seemed that the Master had his two loves, the little prince and the little princess. At other times, it felt like Greer and Embry had their own private love affair outside of the trio.

I was enchanted with the author's repeating of certain words and phrases three times...and this actually started the song from Rhianna playing in my head. The writing is clear but definitely not simple. It's...well...beautiful and moving. The author's style of writing so effective when describing the most explicit and detailed erotic scenes. It was thick with eroticism but never overdone in the way some erotic writing can be and after reading it for awhile it loses its impact. Definitely NOT the case with this author's adroit hand in writing scorching erotica.

As a reader, I have been entertained with depictions of menage in other books. However, I never felt the moving love story of the principles within the tale. This story opened my eyes and educated my heart about different ideas of love and sex. The possibility of impossibly all hard and tough male falling in love with hard and tough male. The duality inside each of these characters. Each lover in the menage a trois grabbing their own personal satisfaction selfishly and giving satisfaction generously.

And while Greer has it all, the Camelot fairy tale with both "King Author" and "Lancelot" in her bed, I am afraid for her. Mostly, I am besotted with these three characters and cannot do nothing else but continue on in the saga with the next book. For an intense and superbly written story of love and power, one click to meet these mesmerizing three, three, three.

"This was supposed to be my fairy tale, with me as the princess and Ash as the prince, but there’s a third person here, a person we both want and who wants both of us."

OMG I floved this book!! Can't wait to read 'American Prince. '

Those were my very first thoughts after finishing this book. It was sitting on my Kindle for a long time and I'll admit I kept looking at it, thinking, "What is this? Queen? Another royalty book? What?" BUT once I started I couldn't stop! Ash, Embry and Greer's story is sizzling, stormy, loving, everlasting and completely gripping.

"All the words that men use about women—enchanted, charmed, addicted—they don’t even begin to cover what I felt for you and your handful of shattered glass. I thought about you that night, and the next and the next, and when I was deployed to Carpathia, you were all I thought about. I built these fantasies in my mind where I would come home after the war and find you at whatever university you were at. I would kiss you until you were like you were that night at the party, begging me to do whatever I wanted.”

Oh Ash, you sweet-talker you! This is a story of three intertwined lives and their rise to the top of American politics. Since 'Priest' by Sierra Simone is one of my favorite erotica books, I knew that I would love this one. I just wasn't prepared for the level of hotness and (slight) depravity! And I mean that in the nicest way.

I rarely have time to read a series back to back but I did just that with 'American Queen' and 'American Prince.' The books are just that good!! There are villains and back-stabbers and war and bravery and lots and lots of sex. And I mean TONS. And a good, not-so-old-fashioned love story.

"I fell in love with Ash, only to watch him marry another woman. I slept with a different man, only to never hear from him again."

Ash and Embry are war heroes who are now the President and Vice-President of United States, respectively. Their love for each other and for Greer unfolds through alternating points of view and flashbacks between the past and the present. This is a very clever tale filled with references to the story of King Arthur and Camelot but also THE hottest and most passionate love scenes I've ever read. Ash, Embry and Greer are all perfect for each other but will they find some kind of happily ever after? I loved the conclusion to this book and I can say that the next one was just as enticing. If you are looking for something spicy and intelligent and gripping, then you will absolutely adore 'American Queen'!

"Let me bleed for you again."

When someone suggested this book to me I really expected an MFM reverse harem style romance, but I was so delighted to find that it's a proper MMF romance! It just adds so much complexity and intensity to the story. I've already bought book 2!

I love this book so much.
Greer didnt have it easy. Her parents got killed when she was 7. She moves in with her grandfather Who she adores.
He loves to takes Greer to diners and parties where he, as former vice-president , still talk about politics.
Greer met Maxen when she was 16 and again at 21. She fell in love that first time. But he was in the army and 10 year older,. She wrote 1 year long emails to Maxen, but he never replied.
At 21, she again went with her grandfather to a lunch and later that night to a birthday party where Maxen told everyone he was engaged. Greer left the party crying. Downstairs she walked into Embry, best friend of Maxen. They leave the hotel together and have an amazing night. The next morning Embry is not there and she doesnt see him or Maxen for 5 years and then the amazing story begins....
Its erotic and not for the faint hearted, as its not regular, but so hot..... this is in my top 3 of favourite serie.

I thought it was a polyamory story instead it is a 50 shades of boring with a petulant girl that had Stockholm syndrome, a god complex President of the United States and his sidekick that forgot where is balls are at.

Ah and there is a guy that can see your future. He is probably a magician of some sort, but not really because this book doesn’t have magic, just bad writing. This magician guy is called Merlin. Yes, I know, really unique name.

The sex scene weren’t even that good.

A romance unlike anything you've ever read. When I thought I had managed to discover all the sordid secrets of this book and the whys, the author came and pulled the rug under my feet. Astonishing, jarring and so very sexy.
