★★★★★! American Queen, book 1 of 3. The behind the scenes unfolding of a controversial, extraordinary love triangle caught in political intrigue!

“If you can’t accept that, then say my name right now and we will step back and renegotiate our relationship. But if you are willing to submit to the fact that I will move fucking heaven and earth to keep you from harm, then say yes, Sir.”

Books in trilogy should be read in order:
Book 1: American Queen
Book 2: American Prince
Book 3: American King

American Queen (book 1) is an unconventional epic love saga between the two most powerful men on earth and the woman who’d become their American Queen.

Recent college graduate and professor, Greer Galloway, Princess is political royalty. Orphaned and raised by her grandfather, the former Vice President she is well versed in politics. But she grew up somewhat isolated, immersed in her studies.

Steering clear of boys only to attract the most powerful of men!

Her first kiss went to the man who’d one day become President. Her virginity went to his best friend and Vice President. One man would become her husband and master!

Both men would represent an extraordinary love!

President, former Lieutenant and war hero, Maxen Ashley Colchester, Ash and his Vice President and military comrade Embry Moore, Prince have faced world crisis, war and political discord.

Yet the hardest battle will come from within, impure desires and controversial thoughts!

Alternating between unfolding current events and flashbacks, this is the behind closed doors story about a sacred and unapologetic love that transcends time!

“You belong to yourself and you belong to me, and I don’t fucking care that it seems to be a contradiction because we both know it isn’t.”

Twelve words to describe Maxen Ashley Colchester, Ash: Commanding, powerful, ruthless, devious, manipulative, focused, enigmatic, irresistible, honorable, unforgettable, heroic, and larger-than-life.

Twelve words to describe Embry Moore, Prince: Private, loyal, secretive, noble, brave, nurturing, conflicted, complex, reckless, intense, suave and aloof.

Nine words to describe Greer Galloway, Princess: Smart, naïve, impressionable, submissive, good-hearted, resilient, trusting, confused and strong.

American Queen, told from Greer’s POV, will be followed by books from Maxen and Embry’s POVs. It’s an unconventional and forbidden love triangle. Center stage a commanding, devious, secretive, conflicted yet ruthless Maxen Ashley Colchester.

A masterfully written tale of seduction, lust, sex, jealousy and love boosted by themes of political intrigue; power, greed, deceit, scandal and danger. It ends while recovering from an euphoric high leading right to book 2, American Prince for the continuation of their saga.

Brilliant! Spectacular! All-consuming! A love triangle like no other!

“The secret he keeps, the lies he tells.”

Strap on your vibrators, girls. Strap them on RIGHT NOW because you need to be prepared. Sierra Simone has written one of the hottest Hot Romance Novels since, like, ever.

I'm going to try my best to not reveal anything about this book that is spoiler-ish, so I beg your forgiveness for what could be a fairly vague review.

The granddaughter of an American vice president, Greer Galloway knows her way around politics. One of the things her grandfather values about her is her canny ability to read people. She knows what a shadow on someone's face indicates, and she recognizes their tells when they're nervous. She's perceptive.

She also knows herself. She knows what she desires, and she knows how she desires it. She knows what she values.

When she is only fifteen, she meets Ash, a man more than a decade her senior and a man who becomes the President of the United States. Six years after meeting him, she meets Embry, a man who becomes Ash's vice president.

She cares for them both, albeit in slightly different ways. She wants them both. She realizes, though, that her wants might not be able to happen.

Okay, so there is your plot (ish). Let's get to the good stuff, shall we? The hot headboard rocking in this book will cause you to go INSANE with need for release.

I am not kidding, faithful readers.

In-Freaking-Sane.

But better than that is the way Simone writes this story. She has to address several elements of Greer's being, not the least of which is trust. As Greer observes, "Trust without truth isn't actually trust." She needs to know the truth, and she needs to share the truth, even if doing so will bring her heartache.

And then there is this: "I'm nothing, I'm everything, I'm the light and the dark and the air and the void. Strong force, weak force, gravity, electricity, magnetism are all pinning me underneath this violent, tragic soldier." It's beautiful, right?

This romance will drive you nuts, both with Needs and with angst. Simone will keep you wondering who will "win" and who will "lose." She will make you wish so dearly that no one gets hurt, and she will make you worry. She also will make you suspicious of one particular character, a suspicion that bears out when this book ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER.

Oh, Sierra Simone, I am not amused by that cliffhanger AT ALL.

And then I get to this exchange, which fans of Simone will appreciate:
"I'll be as chaste as a priest. I promise."
"I hear not all priests are that chaste these days."

And so I am willing to forgive her for making me wait for the sequel because of how she made me feel while I read this book. The thing is, I want more. And you will, too.

Hm.

Just a minute...

Excuse me while I collect myself... or rather my panties from the floor...

This book was FIRE!

I'm still trying to recover from it and I finished it almost five minutes ago!!

This author has not disappointed at all!

I read my first story by her: Priest which, if I may say so myself was a GENIUS book.

And now she's knocked it out of the park again with this one!

American Queen didn't get a five-star from me, it was a four star, but don't fret! It was for two reasons and I'll tell you in a minute.

But first, let me tell why I LOVED it!

1: The fact that this awesome author didn't even mention the characters' "sexual orientations."

For stories like this (MFM or MMF) it's become a trend for authors to annoyingly insist on falsely portraying "bisexuality," so in this book, I absolutely LOVED that this was just about three people who all loved each other, and gender or sexuality wasn't a factor.

It was not like in most of the MFM or similar books I've had the displeasure of reading where the authors usually feel the need to "justify" why one of the characters is into both genders...
It's usually something nauseating like: "Oh, I'm bisexual, therefore I can't be satisfied with pussy alone so I need dick in my life too!"

This is annoying and I loved that this author didn't this.

2: I ADORED the heroine!!!

I appreciate heroines who unapologetically embrace and OWN their sexualities.

The last time I remember loving a female MC like this was in Sylvia Day's Crossfire series. That heroine was a sexual being and she owned it and was proud too and wasn't ashamed, like society tends to tell women to be when they even show a slight sign of sexual confidence.

So I appreciate when a heroine knows what she wants and isn't worried what anyone thinks.

3: The male MCs.

I am a bisexual woman. And I especially hate how bisexuality is written in books sometimes, especially when it comes to the bi men.

I tend to take that shit personally!

So this book put back my faith in authors again when it comes to those types of characters.

The two men, the President and the Vice President both want each other, they are attracted to each other and they are equally that way with the heroine.

These men have no internal issues with their attraction to each other, they didn't make me roll my eyes and there was no annoying "gay for you," or "I need dick too and pussy isn't enough" storylines.

So, thanks, author.

Now let's get down to why I took out a star:

1: The heroine's best friend.

I saw how smart the heroine was, even when she was a little bit insecure when she was younger.

So I didn't like how the author just made it look like the heroine could not tell how bad of a friend her "best friend" was.

I mean, I could tell how toxic the bitch was from the first words I read about her, why did the heroine blatantly ignore this and continue to be friends with her?

2: The Presidential factor.

I actually think Ash could have had any profession.

I mean, in America, we've never had a president younger than 50-60 years of age, right? Or am I wrong?

And Ash wasn't even halfway through his thirties yet...

Ash was already a soldier and that was the only thing that made a difference to the story, so he could have been a soldier and something else and the story won't have been any different.

I was just taken out of the story a little bit every time I read or was reminded that he was the leader of the free world, as it made no difference to the story.

That's it!

I'll go tackle the next book in the series now, since this ended in a nice little cliffhanger.

And I will hopefully I love it just as much as this one!

Thanks for reading my review!

Happy reading!

Xoxo

5 stars!!!

description
This was supposed to be my fairy tale, with me as the princess and Ash as the prince, but there’s a third person here, a person we both want and who wants both of us.

This book. OMG this book!!!! I’m not always a fan of the ‘erotica’ genre, I need the feels when I read and I have to be in the mood for the excessive sexy time. So I put this series on the back burner. I had a persistent friend/blog parter that has been raving about it and assured me it had feels and I would love it. Since the final book in the trilogy is out, I figured it was time. I jumped in. And I’ll say it again- OMG! I loved this book! It blew me away. Simone’s writing is alluring and captivating and this story was nothing short of spectacular!

Greer Galloway has grown up in politics. It’s what she knows. But she never imagined she would catch the eye of the President. Gah! What can I say about this book. Not giving anything away. Nope. Just READ IT!

I am so happy these books are all out now, because I can’t wait a minute longer to start the second book in this series! I can’t wait to get more Ash, Greer, and Embry! If you’re looking for a sinfully sexy, emotional, and sensational read, check out American Queen!

This was total trash and I gobbled it right up.

Not sure I will continue though. I loathe flashbacks and this series is written entirely in the past/present back and forth format that I don’t love. Entertaining. But not my favorite delivery system.

I also don't feel like being strung along for two more books at $4.95 a pop.
So...It’s not you, book, it’s me.

Wow....Just Wow. I have 5 words for this book: Enchanting. Spellbinding. Seductive. Wicked. Forbidden

This is a tightly spun love-story but much more than this we get an intelligent story, told with a crisp and smart narrative. This book pulsated with passion and, sweet lawd, the ever-present scent of the forbidden.

Honestly, I don't know how to categorize American Queen Is it: Erotica?! Political thriller?! Second chance love? Or a love triangle love circle? I found it was none of these, yet all of it.

Let's meet the Primary Characters
Greer
Maxen 'Ash'
Embry
Abilene - Greer's Cousin
Merlin - Wizard or Fixer?

Told from Greer's (our female protagonist) perspective, American Queen spans 18 years with Simone cleverly transitioning past and present. Greer's voice is intelligent- bold even- and at many instances, I wished to simply crawl inside her mind. I liked her a lot and was rooting for her all through!

Simone quickly takes us through the early years as we meet 7 yr old Greer Galloway, who believes Merlin cursed her with these words:

“Greer, one kiss from you would swing this world from friendship to anger. From peace to war.”

She can't help but heed Merlin's words not really believing yet unable to disbelieve. So, no kisses for Greer until the age of 16 when she meets 26-yr-old Ash, who gives her her first kiss. Four years later she meets Embry, who gives her the second kiss, and so much more. At 16, she fell in love with Ash and at 20, Embry claims half of her heart.

Did I forget to mention that Embry and Ash are best friends? Yes.

Eventually, all 3 reunite in D.C. and this is where the story actually gains momentum. At this stage Greer, at 25, is a lecturer at Georgetown U., Ash is the President of the United States with Embry as Vice-President.

Nothing could have ever prepared them for the tangled web that ensues.

Ash loves Greer, Greer loves Ash, Embry loves Greer. But could Greer be in love with Embry as well? The love and the longing between these 3 will leave you breathless, hot, and heartbroken. But remember, nothing is at it seems and Merlin's words should not be disregarded. Meanwhile, there are others intent on causing havoc, willing to destroy anyone who gets in their way even if it means getting rid of one part of this trio.....I so can't wait for book 2!

*Note* This is book 1 of 3

sometimes smut should just be smut. i don't need back stories or weird flashbacks or made up history that low key demonizes Slavic people.

could we just get a 100 page poly smut situation with a president/vice president/grown woman scenario? i dunno if i'm just getting too sensitive in my old age, but a few things really rubbed me the wrong way early on regarding the story here that i just don't wanna finish despite my curiosity.

1 ⭐️ I swear my p*ssy sewed itself shut while reading this.

I hate this book so much that I don’t even want to write a review. It just kept getting worse the more I continued so I fully read till 30%, skimmed till 77%, and had to jump to the end.

***SPOILERS****

Here’s everything wrong with Maxen (Ash) Colchester aka the creepy, self-absorbed predator, I mean, President:

1. He has an intense make-out session with a 16-year-old when he’s 26 years old. But after learning she’s not 18, he keeps kissing her and says, “Why aren’t you eighteen.” 🤢 Bro, just stop.

2. 10 years later, after his wife dies, he has the audacity to tell Greer he constantly thought about her especially while his now dead wife (who he apparently loved dearly) was lying next to him asleep in bed. Yes, I mean he’d masturbate to the memory of him kissing a 16-year -old.

3. The man who is now his best friend and his Vice President….well Maxen first fucked him 10 years ago after the guy was wounded in battle and high on painkillers. They do it multiple times because apparently, Maxen was so hot-blooded after the battle. Can you even properly consent with morphine in your system? They then proceeded to fuck on and off for the last decade but stop when he gets with Greer. But actually, they kiss behind her back so, yeah, that’s cheating.

4. He fucks his half-sister without realizing it but when he finds out he goes to a sex club to flog her one time and then after they just go to sex clubs together to find their own pleasures separately. What the actual fuck? Totally normal to go to sex clubs with your sibling who you also fucked, right?

5. He’s a terrible dom because he hardly explained boundaries to Greer. He gives her a safe word and does whatever he wants to her while basically saying, “We can stop but if you trust me, we’ll keep going.” He is constantly cohering her into doing something she’s not 100% comfortable with.

Bottom line: Fuck this guy. He’s a fucking creep.

Also what I hated:
- The Insta-love.
- This story is riddled with other women/men drama so if you hate that shit, don’t even pick this up.
- I hated all the MCs, Embry the least, but they are all so fucking stupid.
- Sierra Simone didn’t add appropriate tags to her book, which should have stated heavy BDSM, humiliation, pedophilia, incest, cheating, and dehumanization. And by dehumanization, I’m referring to how the FMC, Greer, is repeatedly treated like a sex object more than a person, which is fine if that’s your cup of tea but it didn’t make sense with what we know about her, and looking at Maxen’s past relationship. PS: I’ve read my fair share of erotica with dark triggers but these were just not done well.

Reading this made me feel so much disgust and dread. There’s zero believability with this story or the characters, and while it’s fiction, it still has to be written in a way that makes some sense - even if there are some twists, but this just doesn’t do that. So much drama for drama’s sake. 🙄 All I wanted was a good MMF romance with a well-developed love story and characters but instead, I got a ridiculous, all smut no plot story about a creepy, widowed MMC who gets to finally bang his best friend and the woman he’s been infatuated at the same time. If you want a good MMF story, read Give Me More by Sara Cate. 👏

Before I dive into a rambling review that will no doubt turn into a mushy confession of my love for all things romantic, I have to divulge that my lovefest actually began with a graduate class on Arthurian legend. This book modernizes ideals I fell in love with years ago and I enjoyed every single second of it!! I loved this one so hard!!

Greer Galloway, our present day Guinevere is torn by her love of two very powerful men. The President of the United States and his Vice President. Talk about aiming high, right?!

 photo BeFunky Collage.jpg

Here’s what I LOVED: The biggest win here for me is the storyline, but I also liked the main characters. Ash is a strong dominate force, Greer is smart and brave enough to go after what she wants, but Embry stole my heart. He's beautifully tortured and selfless. I can't wait for book two, which will be told from his perspective.

I really enjoy books that manage to put a spin on the classics and retell them in a new and refreshing way. My absolute favorites in YA and romance this year have both been books where authors were successful in taking something old and modernizing it. American Queen excels at that; it feels completely different but also remains authentic to the original storyline. The idea of mixing courtly love and elements of BDSM blew my mind.

 photo AmericanQ-TellMe.jpg

The passion exemplified in this book is sensual and raw. It’s an emotional journey that left me panting for more. I will refrain from discussing all the elements of the Arthurian legend that I found fascinating because no one wants to read a dissertation in book review format, right? I will only say, that they are many, true to form, and very well done. I’ll sum up my likes by saying this book is smartly written, raw, gripping, articulate, masterly executed, and entertaining. It’s all the things a great love story should be.

A few minor issues: There were some minor editing issues, but I was so engrossed in the story they didn’t detract from my enjoyment at all. Also, I try to steer clear of cliffhangers, but this one was so worth it. So, in all honesty, there were no major issues. I loved it, completely and thoroughly.

Overall, American Queen is a brilliantly constructed modern day retelling of the Arthurian Legend. While a love of all things Arthur heightened my experience, it is in no way a prerequisite to enjoy this gem of a book. On a basic level this book will entertain any romance reader who enjoys a well written romance with elements of BDSM. I was utterly engrossed from the very first page. Sierra Simone has a new number ONE fan, ladies and gentleman! I was on the edge of my seat, swatting at my kids and husband if they tried to speak to me, considered ditching a family outing to read, ENGROSSED! Sierra Simone, much like Morgan le Fay is a sorceress willing me to read everything she’s ever written. And I, like a willing submissive will comply. I highly recommend this book, but with a cliffy warning. :)

Are you ready for this? Was I ready for this? The answer is NO! I was not! And yet, here I am, yearning to read it ALL. OVER. AGAIN. Once again, Sierra Simone works her magic of the sensual and forbidden and turns me into a slave of her words. Nothing....and I mean NOTHING will prepare you for this passionate, intense and mind-fucking ride!

I'm not going to dive into the nitty-gritty of AMERICAN QUEEN, because this is just something you have to experience all on your own, and I urge you...no, I BEG you to not read any reviews that might contain spoilers. If the beautiful cover and the enticing blurb doesn't reel you in, I don't know what will. If you've read any other romances by Sierra Simone, you know you are in for a sexy surprise! I was expecting it. I was expecting a life-altering plot twist. I thought I was ready. I was pumped up thinking 'oh no, she isn't getting me this time' but I was wrong. She FLOORED me even then. This sizzling, pulse pounding, jaw dropping, sexy as hell romance will take you on the ride of your life.

"I know you've stayed away from this world for a reason. I know it might be asking a lot of you."

He looks up from where he's touching me to meet my eyes.

"But I don't just want you at my feet. I want you by my side."

The mundane world of politics turns into a seductive playground in AMERICAN QUEEN.

I'm just bursting at the seams, wanting to tell you what this book is really all about, but I can't! Believe me, you'll thank me in the end. Sierra Simone stole my heart and ran away with it, in this first installment of The American Queen Trilogy. I want more and I want it now! If you read this and it doesn't turn out to be one of our favorites of the year, I would be astounded, because it sure as hell was one of MINE!

I started this book open minded and really tried to enjoy it, but...
It has a weak heroine, a hero who seems powerful on the outside - but broken on the inside (which would have worked, if he wasn't the fucking President of the United States), Insta-Love, BDSM, MM, MFM, cheating and even incest... 😬
It was all just too much for my gentle heart. 😂💙

📚 "𝐖𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬. 𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞." 📚

16-year-old Greer Galloway goes to a party with her grandfather, the former Vice President of America, where she meets the 26-year-old soldier, Maxen Ashley (Ash). 🔥
Despite her young age, they share a forbidden kiss - and of course they instantly fall in love. (eye role)
Ash deploys and Greer emails him about how much she loves him and what he does to her body (girl, you've only met him once, shut up...) but he never answers her. 😬

A few years later, they are about to meet again at the party - and she is so excited to see the man who stole her heart, especially now that she is of legal age... but instead, she discovers that Ash is engaged and runs away crying - right into Embry's arms, a heart broken guy himself. 💔
The two decide to spend the night together. she gives him her virginity and... (Yes, you guessed it!) They both immediately fall in love with each other (eye role). But he's gone the next day and she never hears from him again...

📚 "𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐡, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧. 𝐈 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧." 📚

The years goes by... Ash is the President of the United States (at 35! I can't get my husband to take out the trash by himself) and Embry is the Vice President - and the three of them meet again.
Ash tells Greer that after all these years he is still in love with her (eye role) and so they immediately become a couple. 💙
But what about Embry...? 😬

So... I won't elaborate to avoid spoilers, but except for lots of sex, there was hardly any plot in this book (and the one that was, wasn't to believable).
I don't have a problem with a lot of sex scenes - I love it! But except for a few scenes that were hot, most of them were just humiliating - and if anyone tried to do to me what they did to Greer, I would contact the police, President or not President!!! #metoo 💪💙

📚 “𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞? 𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞? 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞?" 📚

Plus, I didn't like any of the characters...
Greer was described as educated and independent woman but quickly became a weak, submissive and gullible. I love books with strong men who "save" the heroine, but I don't like to read about woman with no self-respect who don't like themselves and enjoy being humiliated. 😬
And Ash? He wasn't even a real Dom, he was just a man who enjoyed hurting and humiliating his partners - men or women ... God, if it was a true story and he was really the president, I would write this review sitting in a shelter!!! 😂😂😂
And Embry... well, to be honest he was the least annoying of the three. 😂

I know I'm in the minority, because the book has lots of high reviews... but unfortunately, it wasn't my cup of tea.

This is no fairy tale. Or if it is, it's the most fucked-up fairy tale I’ve ever heard of.

I'm still confused as to which emotion should I run with here. This story has vibrant colours of a rainbow of emotions it invoked in me. Angst, love, submission, lust, heartbreak, seperation, sexiness.
Greer Galloway meets Maxen Ashley Colchester and she is lost....So am I.
One kiss...one kiss they shared and she melts and he imprints on her heart and mind....So did mine.
He goes back to war , she to Manhattan , but the pining , the yearning for unrequited love aches her heart....So did mine .
They meet again 5 years later but are so stunned by the turn of events , it tears their hearts......so did mine
And again 5 more years later , their lives are in turmoil once again. This time it's tug of war between Heart and Conscience for her.......so is mine
The story is fabulous. No other word , except F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S !
There's so much Lust - hot steamy , hard, rough , tender Lust !
There's so much Love - hurting, healing, forbidden, dangerous, destroying Love !
There's so much ache - twisting, churning, pulling, tearing, searing ache !
It's written so well,Sierra explores the difficult terrain of the Heart and mind with élan ! She delves into a very tough relationship and full marks to her to justify it so beautifully and showing us , it is acceptable to love all .
I'm so dying to say much much more, but hate spoilers.
Just had one peeve tho, I wish prologue was more ....covert, for the lack of better word .
I had figured it out then and there . But it DOES NOT take away from the exquisite narration of the plot that has many pitfalls and peaks.
There's the American Hero the cool-headed politician, the beloved hero-President , the fierce Dominant
There's the American Princess Who needs a ring when you have bite marks? Who needs vows when you’ve literally bled for one another?
And then there's him What a man. What a heartbroken, funny, charming, moody man. And the eight-inch dick and muscled stomach and war hero past didn’t hurt at all.

If this story had a relationship status , it'd be --->IT'S COMPLICATED !!!

I think my Kindle just overheated after reading the last few chapters of American Queen. I might even take up smoking again just to enjoy that after sex cigarette vibe ;) The ending had me craving a smoke until the last three lines. That's all I'm going to say. I want you to go into this one blind and ready for a binge read.

In American Queen, Sierra Simone spun a one-of-a-kind forbidden second chance romance. This wicked political drama is fueled by lust, love and sexy as sin secrets. American Queen is not to be missed.

American Queen

As we are nearing the final book in this series release day, I figured now would be a great time to start this series. WOW!!!! What a journey that we go on in this story.

From growing up, Greer has lived with her Grandfather, attended social functions with him from a young age learning the ropes of listening, becoming a spy of sorts for her grandfather and how to smile and say thank-you.

It is at one of these events, she meets a man who at her young age, she can’t stop thinking about. One stolen kiss, that was all it took. As with life though, sometimes love takes us on a path that is not clearly marked…sometimes we must take the direct route…sometimes we take the route that is best directed from someone else. But in the end, true love will find each other.

What a descriptive journey we go on! A journey of love in so many different colors that once you finish this fantastic book, you must dive into American Prince…which is where I am headed NOW!!!

... Not for me.

I've started this book last December but ended up dnfing it. I decided to give it a second try because I swore I would return to it. The story somewhat kept my interest until around sixty percent mark. I tried to finish it but I was just too uncomfortable to continue knowing how the story turned out and the things that I already foresaw would happen. This is such an extremely erotic read that contains MMF and MM relationship, and BDSM. Not fond of these things so I had to stop. Actually, I dove into it expecting it was a love triangle kind of book. It was, but not my traditional kinda read. My bad.

***NOT A STANDALONE, ENDS WITH A CLIFFHANGER***

➦First of all, there will be people who won't pick this book up just because it explores a relationship between three people. And that's fine - to each their own. Personally, I love reading about all kinds of different relationships - it could be a book about a person in a relationship with a chair and I'd probably still read it.

➦Those people who pick this book up because it's classified as erotica might be surprised to find that it's not hardcore menage porn at all. You won't find any double penetration *ahem* but THIS SHIT IS HAWT! (I know, I got a way with words)

➦The story in this novel spans many years and it's actually a rather slow paced book which takes its time developing the characters. And THAT is precisely what I crave in my reads. That as well as a good amount of suspense to keep me interested and a healthy dose of naughty foreplay. Well, this book has all that and more.

➦On top of all that it's a romance that is set in a political world with a heroine being in a relationship with the president. There are a lot of secrets surrounding their affair and ultimately they will be revealed.

You are wondering who the second man is, aren't you? If this sounds like a book you might enjoy just go ahead and dive in. In fear of giving spoilers I will just say that this is definitely not a case of insta-lust or cheating. The situation here is rather interesting and unique. This was a great beginning to a potentially amazing story and I will be patiently waiting for the second installment.

➦Recommended for lovers of menage, political, forbidden romances with powerful controlling heroes and sweet heroines. *note* there are some elements of BDSM present involving "crawl to me" and "please your master" but no nipple clamps or paddles. :D

Sit here, so I can whisper in your ear. Want a cup of coffee? No? All right. Let me get to the point.
This book had me on pins and needles. It was...you know that feeling you get when you're reading and you're kind of....how do I put this? Soaring? Like you're reading the words and you feel like you're in front of an orchestra that's being conducted masterfully? And your heart gets...like "literally"....a centimeter higher in your chest?

(A centimeter may not sound like a lot but your heart goes where it goes so that little bit is a big deal. I'm trying to give a sense of metaphor and a sense of grounded reality at the same time so bear with me)

Well, this book had all that.
And you're getting up off the chair, saying -- "It's the first in a series, I'll wait."

(pats chair)

Hear me out. I'm going to tell you how to do this, because I understand your dilemma. I do.
Buy this book. Read it through. All 600 pages. DO NOT READ CHAPTER 30. Just sit with Chapter 29 and a big shit-eating grin on your face and close the book. Let the glory and joy and happiness sink in. Let the last chapter sit for another day.

When book 2 comes out, buy it or don't. Your call. But if you do? THEN you read chapter 30 and you'll be propelled into the next book, heart and soul.

OMG That was SOOOO BAD.

What that book didn't need was the whole "Carpathia" plot.

Let me get it straight. I'm Polish so when I started reading this book and I saw names of polish cities or places I was excited - but after one second I was confused. The more I read the more angry I became.

American Queen is sort of a retelling of Arthurian Legends mixed with Slavic and American culture. Was it a good mix you may ask... No, no it was absolutely not.

So the whole story begins when our 16 year old MC, Greer, goes to a party with her granddad - ex American vice-president. There she meets a 26 year old guy, they share a sexy kiss and they "fall in love". At the same party Greer meets Merlin the Wizard who predicts her future... (you see what the author did there?? huh? Merlin?)

The conflict in CARPATHIA tightens. What is Carpathia? The hell I know. The author writes that it's a place between Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia. That people from Carpathia - aka Carpathians - want to rebel and want autonomy. From who??? From which country??? I don't have the faintest idea. But they unleash their rage on Poland - they bomb a train from Bucharest to Warsaw (which is ridiculous because there's no way such train could ever exist you would have to travel to 3 countries in several trains... but I digress...) What's more, they bomb Cracow. Why? The author never tells us. So those Carpathians are fighting against Poland and we have no clue why since nowhere in this novel the author says that this Magical Place Carpathia is under any Polish influence.

And let me teach you some geography. THERE IS NO PLACE CARPATHIA NOR PEOPLE CALLED CARPATHIANS. There are instead Carpathian Mountains that stretch along 8 countries and not only in Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia! In Carpathian Mountains there live 76 nations - 15 billion people! So tell me WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "CARPATHIANS"?!?!!? And what's even more curious - we in Poland don't have any equivalent for "Carpathians" - you know why??? BECAUSE THEY DON'T F*CKING EXIST! gosh.

But did the author stop there, you ask? NO. She thought it would be such a great idea to just take polish culture and traditions and throw them in there and not even check if what she's writing about is accurate.
- The President of Poland in this book is “Andrezj Lewandowski”. I mean, come on. Couldn't she just type in Google "polish president"??? You know what would pop out? "Andrzej Duda". Yes. She even spelled the name wrong. ANDREZJ IS NOT A POLISH NAME. ANDRZEJ IS. And if you say it's a minor mistake IT'S NOT. It was so easy to check this information but did she do it? HELL NO.

- we have a scene where our MIGHTY PRESIDENT OF USA invites ANDREZJ (lol) Lewandowski. They have a fancy party and guess what Americans serve to eat to Polish president. "Pierogies". Firstly, it's PIEROGI (it's already in plural so adding -s is stupid), secondly why would you serve the most common food to a president on official supper? It's like Trump would come to Poland and ANDRZEJ Duda (our president) would serve him McDonald's. It's just stuuuuuupid.

- so we have this party, and the band plays music. They play "polish folk music" and both presidential couples dance to it. OK SIMONE, DID YOU EVEN LISTEN TO POLISH FOLK MUSIC??? DID YOU SEE HOW DO YOU DANCE TO POLISH FOLK MUSIC? Because I know for a fact that YOU DID NOT. If you did, you would know that it's VERY FAST and requires a lot of training - there are steps that you have to learn -you don't just dance to it, it's more like a performance. AND IT REQUIRES FOLK DRESSES. UGH.

SOOOO. This guy that our MC kissed, Maxen Ashley - he's a soldier that fought in CARPATHIAN WAR. Why Americans would fight with east-European rebels I don't know. But I guess Americans are so mighty that they will fight everywhere just to be MIGHTY. AAAAAND we have Emery. He is the best friend of Ash, they fight together. Greer meets him few years later on another party - they are both unhappy because both of them love someone unattainable - and what a surprise! they both love ASH! So Greer loses virginity to Emery and never hears from him again.

Years later Ash is THE PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES and Emery is THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES. And Ash meets Greer and tells her that after all these years he still loves her. And after one meeting they are together. But what about Emery? Well, they have a threesome and live happily ever after, or maybe not????

As a non-American I will tell you that this book is so painfully "american" that I have no words:
-ignorance about foreign traditions
-belief that USA is the best country in the whole world
-and that the president and vice president are the MOST IMPORTANT AND POWERFUL people in the whole world.

I could go on but I'm just tired of this book.

The characters are weird. Especially Greer. She's SO PERFECT. But she's sooooo perfect that both men are in love with her after ONE KISS. Because SHE'S SO PERFECT. UGH.

Also this book honored us with:
- INCEST
- BDSM
-choosing for your safe word your partner's name
- and The Jealous Best Friend - her friend and cousin is soooooo mad because Greer is the prettier one and she has her own president, blablabla. GIRL HATE IS WHAT I LOVE MOST.

AND WE HAVE PLOT TWIST AT THE ENDING!!! But I won't spoil it to you in case you really want to read this book. (I HOPE NOT.)

Our story begins with a warning. A warning that it was given to a seven years old girl by a wizard.

“Keep your kisses to yourself when the time comes”.

Greer is the granddaughter of a former Vice President. She comes from a very important family in politics.
She is naturally observant, naturally curious, and naturally ready to read deeply into small comments or gestures, so Grandpa Leo was using her as his little spy when she was a kid.
Greer used to mingle in the adult world in balls, events and social gatherings that her grandfather was taking her. Whatever she heard, she told to her grandfather afterwards. And usually she had a lot to tell, because nobody was paying attention to a pretty child...

...Until one of these nights she met Mr. Merlin Rhys and he noticed her and he scared her and she tried to avoid him for many years afterwards – not very successfully. Merlin told her that she was not supposed to kiss anyone. EVER! If she kissed anyone, people would get hurt.

Greer kissed only two men in her life, because she could not stop it from happening. These two men where exactly the ones she should NEVER kiss.

The kisses did not happen at the same time.

She kissed Ash, when she was sixteen, vulnerable and sad after an accident that involved broken glass and blood.

“You’ll cut yourself if you’re not careful”

And Merlin knew about the kiss, straight away. She could see the disapproval on his face.

She kissed Embry when she was twenty, vulnerable and brokenhearted after an unwanted meeting and a punch from reality.

For the third time tonight, I walked right into another person.
“Fuck,” I swore, already swerving to push past him and reach the door.
“My favorite word,” said a smoothly pleasant voice, and that voice was hypnotic in its charm.

And Merlin knew about the kiss, before it happened. He warned her before she met Embry.

Ash and Embry used to be soldiers and to fight together deep in the mountains of Carpathia. Ash saved Embry. They became heroes, best friends, more than friends and later on the President and the Vice President of USA. The youngest ones ever.

10 years after that first kiss, President Ash asks his best friend Embry to bring Greer to him.

Ash doesn’t know Greer slept with Embry.
Greer doesn’t know Ash used to sleep with Embry.
Embry knows everything and he chooses to be silent and alone.

It is time for Greer to meet again with the only man she has ever had sex, the two men she has ever kissed and the only two men she has ever had feelings for.

Before a week finishes, everything will be a mess.

“Yes, of course,” I tell him. “I’ll go anywhere you want me to.”

I loved the fact that the story has borrowed elements from Arthur’s tale and Camelot. There is wizard Merlin and there is Morgan. There is a true king, his queen and his best friend.

The story is fascinating. I could not stop reading. I made the mistake of starting it during the afternoon and I could not sleep that night, until I finished the book. I was glued to it, when I read this perfect prologue.

If you haven’t read any MMF book ever, you will need to know that this book is really heavy in erotic scenes between Greer, Ash and Embry –especially towards the end. They are in love and burning for each other and this fact is very strong throughout the book. The three of them are possessive and jealous of other people.

With the exception of Embry who used to be a bit of a manwhore, Ash has always been faithful and monogamous and Greer is hardly a man-eater being 26 years old and having sexual experiences with only two men in her whole life.
Greer is also the open-minded person who accepts easily this messed up situation and orchestrates their final arrangement with the approval of Ash. Or I suppose it looks like that. We don’t really see Ash’s and Embry’s POV in this book.

The fairy tale, gone up in flames.
I am gone up in flames too…

Sierra Simone rocked my world again. American Queen is filled with want and need, lust and love, jealousy and generosity. This story is erotic and carnal beyond compare. What else can I say about this masterpiece? Oh yes, I called it a masterpiece. For me, Sierra is the crème de la crème in the this erotica literary world in which we sometimes live. Her books are filled with thought provoking story lines with complex characters and the absolute hottest sex in town.

In American Queen we get to see the political landscape through Greer’s eyes and imagine what it would be like to be *this* close to the most powerful men in the country. Throw in Arthurian legends and a love story involving bisexuals? Be still my heart. Speaking of my heart, as much as it broke for Greer’s trials and tribulations, it was like tenfold when it came to Ash and Embry’s history. Gah. I just love the three of them so much.

All in all this is a 5-star must read because it’s Sierra at her best! Smart, erotic, delicious, and taboo.

P.S. I can’t even tell you how thrilled I was to see this gorgeous cover! I could look at it all day and proudly display it in public and on my bookshelf! Thank you, Sierra Simone, for not putting abs on your cover. Bravo!

Well, what can I say? This book is Fifty Shades of Grey, Mr. President, and A Table for Three rolled into one. I have to say this was so out of my comfort zone but I was able to successfully finish it because the story was a lot more interesting than I could have ever expected.

I knew what I was signing for when I started American Queen. Knew that it has some kind of strange and complicated love story about three characters and it has a menage and BDSM content. I have read quite a number of books with these themes but this was sure to be my first read that has M-M romance.

I loved the fact that the story centered around the political world. Our two heroes namely Mexen Ashley "Ash" Colchester and Embry Moore are best friends and they happen to be politicians (Maxen is the United States' President while Embry is the Vice President). The heroine Greer Galloway also comes from Political roots as her grandfather is an ex-Vice President. In a way, I found the political aspect quite refreshing and full of sense which managed to fill the story with substance.

There were lots and lots of kinky scenes here (if you know what I mean) and my inner goddess rejoiced lol. I loved that the author didn't shy away from making all those scenes a bit graphic for the readers. However, I didn't like how the relationship between the three characters eventually appeared to be manipulative. Ash was manipulative and selfish. I didn't like the way he made sure all things work in his favor. I mean, a relationship should have a give and take process on all sides. In this case, Ash was the one who always took but didn't give. I couldn't even get the reason why Greer and Embry allowed it. Was it because Ash is the President? And oh, don't even get me started on his romance with Jenny.

I also have an issue with Greer. I understood her recklessness in her decisions when she was still 16. But as she grew, there was no character development that happened. She turned out to be such a weak heroine all throughout the book, easily forgiving Ash and letting him control her decisions.

description

Although this book suffered quite a number of flaws, this was still a well-written adult fiction erotica book. This was my first Sierra Simone read and I can say that her writing, her choice of words, and the way she delivered the plot and those toe-curling sexy scenes absolutely drew me in. For fans of erotica, MM romance, and menage, you might love this.

Sierra Simone outdid herself with this incredible story!!
Not in a million years I thought this plot would take the path it did.
Intense and powerful, American Queen, takes love to another level with a story full of lust, friendship and second chances love.

Imagine what would be like to be with one of the most powerful man in the world. Now imagine what would be like to love him since you're sixteen... Can you really imagine the thrill in the moment you finally have him for yourself? And what about if you had the opportunity to have more?

It all started with a kiss. A kiss so powerful that never was forgotten. Years after that kiss, her heart breaks and with it she gives herself to another man. A night of passion, full of hot sex and promises followed by more heartbreak...
Two incredible and powerful men want the same woman. But that's not all they want. That's not all she wants too.

Ash is a contradiction. When you think he's sweet he become ruthless! He's a very dominating man, kinky and powerful. I was not expecting the man he is, when he finally meets with Greer. That, was a complete surprise for me.
Greer is sweet, intelligent, strong and submissive. She knows what she wants and after some events she will get everything she was hoping for!
Embry is the strongest of all! He could have had everything and have nothing. He's loyal, conflicted and the one who makes this story roll...

There are many intense parts in this book that will leave you breathless, others may leave you sad and hopeful for something you know and want it to happen. But the truth will come right in the end, so brace yourself and prepare to read a very engaging book!

Audiobook – 5++++ stars for Stephanie Rose! she rocks.

Story – 3.75 stars

“We kissed for a very long time, until I made sure that I had tasted every trace of your cunt on his mouth, and then I marked his neck. Did you see? I wanted you to see. I can’t decide if that was cruel of me or kind.”

description

I stumbled upon this book when I was sampling audiobooks, it was like a calling. The Narrator is amazing. She gave the characters distinct voices, which is usually hard when it comes to female narrators. I will be checking out her other audiobooks.

I have been craving for a good hot erotica story and bam boom, I got this one. The prologue is the hottest phantom orgasm inducing prologue I have ever read.

"Pull it out. Show Greer what she's done to you."

description

This book is hoooot! Who knew MF sex can be this hot.

I believe the story is based on Arthur, Guinevere and Sir Lancelot, love triangle. Ash, Greer and Embry got some mad bedroom chemistry.

The story is told in Greer’s POV, she is the First Lady/Princess. I really liked her, she could be stupid sometimes but it was understandable, she is a real representation of some of us. Especially when she was 16, I was like, this was me!

Ash is President/King, damn what an Alpha male. He was a Jerk most of the time, a dominant Jerk, a vulnerable man that I loved to hate but I couldn’t. I freaking loved him by the end of this book. In another life, I want me some Ash to give me some good spanking.

description

Embry is Vice President/Prince and Ash’s Best Friend. GAAAAAHH!!! I loved Embry from the moment he was introduced. I don’t know what it is about him, but he just pulled me in. I can’t wait to get his POV.

“Pull yours out,” Ash tells Embry. “Pull it out and rub it while you suck me.”

description

I enjoyed the BDSM element even though it came from nowhere. This is pure Erotica, no plot just hot sex with equally hot characters and some character development. The love part between Ash and Greer was hard to believe. Lust yes! Love nah. Ash and Embry on the other hard! I believe these two have been in love for a long time.

Someone should have thrown a banana peel on the floor and let Abilene step on it, slip and hit her head really hard.

description

I listened to this in one sitting, it was freaking entertaining, just the perfect escapism.

“I didn’t kiss him because I wanted to hurt you, I kissed him because even though he’s broken my heart twice in ten years, I still think he looks beautiful in the winter moonlight. Because sometimes I think I might literally die from wanting to feel his lips on mine.”

description

Embry's book better be good.
