New Camelot #3

American King

Rate this book
They say that every tragic hero has a fatal flaw, a secret sin, a tiny stitch sewn into his future since birth. And here I am. My sins are no longer secret. My flaws have never been more fatal. And I’ve never been closer to tragedy than I am now.

I am a man who loves, a man whose love demands much in return. I am a king, a king who was foolish enough to build a kingdom on the bones of the past. I am a husband and a lover and a soldier and a father and a president.
And I will survive this.

Long live the king.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! American King, book 3 of 3. A candid glimpse into the life & legacy of a King, President Maxen Ashley Colchester & his unapologetic & intuitive love for his Prince & Queen!

“Perhaps Embry’s always had the part of me that wielded the sword, but she… she’s always owned the part that wears the crown.”

Books in trilogy should be read in order:
Book 1: American Queen
Book 2: American Prince
Book 3: American King

This is an unconventional epic love saga between a king among men, President, former Lieutenant and war hero, Maxen Ashley Colchester, Ash, his best friend, lover, military comrade and Vice President Embry Moore, Prince and the girl who would grow up to be their queen, recent college graduate, professor and First Lady Greer Galloway, aka Queen or Princess.

Publicly they will face world crisis, political discord, scandal and tragedies. But it’s the battle they must fight behind closed doors that will define them and consume us. Through secrets, lies, lust, jealousy and betrayal they will struggle to hold on to each other and that which is most sacred; An unapologetic and extraordinary love triangle that transcends time!

American Queen, book 1 is Greer’ story detailing her life, upbringing, first love, first kiss, first lover and how she came to marry the most powerful man on earth while earning the love and commitment of his best friend.

American Prince, book 2 is Emery’s story how he became the second most powerful man on earth while earning the love of his King & Queen. The demons that plagued him, the inner battles he fought and the promises he made…

American King, book 3 is a rare glimpse into the enigma. Maxen, an orphan raised from poverty to serve and protect his country and become the most powerful man on earth. The power of trinity; The Prince who awoke something forbidden, stole his heart and helped him rise to power; The Queen who won his heart, brought him to his knees and paved the way for love and fulfillment. The vulnerabilities he hid, the secrets he kept, the lies he told and the sacrifices he made for country, peace, legacy and love.

“There’s something quite thrilling about fucking a woman in a ball gown. It’s like having a secret that no one else knows, a sin that no one else can see.”

Maxen Ashley Colchester, Ash is one of the best heroes I have ever read. Unapologetic in his love, his lust and his commitments he will drive command the story. Twelve words to describe Maxen: Imposing, powerful, ruthless, devious, manipulative, focused, enigmatic, irresistible, honorable, unforgettable, vulnerable, and larger-than-life.

“Please,” he begs. “Please let me fuck her.”
“You want to fuck that pussy? It’s mine, though.”

Twelve words to describe Embry Moore, Prince: Private, loyal, secretive, noble, brave, nurturing, conflicted, complex, reckless, intense, suave and aloof.

“Here’s what I think, little prince. Here’s what I know— and you know it too. You don’t need to call me Sir to submit to me, and I don’t need you to kneel to know that you’re my possession.”

“I will always be your husband and your king and your master, and it doesn’t matter who I let you fuck, you’ll always belong to me, understood?”

Nine words to describe Greer Galloway, Princess: Smart, naïve, impressionable, submissive, good-hearted, resilient, trusting, confused and strong.

American King, told from multiple POVs, is a masterfully complex and interwoven tale of seduction, lust, sex, jealousy and love boosted by themes of political intrigue; power, greed, deception, scandal, conspiracy and danger. The life, love, sacrifice and legacy of a God among men! A king to his Prince & Queen! Its ending poetic, likely to inspire new legends.

Addicting! Shocking! Devastating! Spell-binding! Unforgettable!!

“I see the beginning.
And I see the end.”

5 stars!!!

description
I wouldn’t be complete without her, and neither would Embry. She was made to be my wife, and we were made to be a three.

I can’t remember the last time I stayed up all night reading a book. It’s been a while. I was a hot mess while reading this book. I cried, I raged, I cried some more, I texted my friend through the late hours of the night (thanks Bella) and I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH! Seriously, what an epic conclusion to this trilogy! It blew me away! My emotions were all over the place, but honestly, that is one of the reasons I love this series so much. It gives me all the feels I need while reading!

After the end of American Prince I was so thankful I didn’t have to wait to read American King. I don’t know how y'all did it. That ending was painful. I was so nervous and scared, but I powered through. There are so many secrets. The lies told, the twists and turns scattered through the story. There is no way I could have guessed a few of the shocking revelations. And I loved that it took me by surprise so much. I was up all hours of the night sobbing through this book. It was devastating at times, but don’t let that keep you from reading. The ending healed my heart completely.
“I told you before, I’ll always choose the pain.”

I feel like this is one of those series that will be unforgettable to me. I can’t imagine forgetting these characters or the way these books made me feel, ever. Ash, Greer, and Embry will have a special place in my heart. I can’t even tell you which character I loved most. They were a three and I loved them all equally. This book was truly exceptional. One of the things I loved most about this one in particular, is we got the perspective of Ash, Greer, and Embry. I loved hearing from all three of them in their final book. I think we, as readers, needed that. Especially the Ash POV.

American King is a stunning, emotional, erotic, powerful, and unconventional romance. It’s such a unique story and the writing is phenomenal. The characters are complex, the story is addictive, and I can’t recommend this series enough! Gah! Just READ IT!!!!!!

I. AM. RUINED! This book has destroyed me in the most exceptional way! Because it's just that...EXCEPTIONAL! Omg, I thought the wait would kill me, but it was so worth it!

First and foremost, this is more of a testimonial than a "book review". In case you don’t read my long gushy post let me state this upfront...I love this book—every single page. Every single word. You should buy it RIGHT NOW! I can't recommend it enough.

I've read and loved a lot of books over the course of my lifetime. And I can say with certainty that this one is on a whole other level of greatness! That's not a knock against any of the other amazing books available to readers, it's just that this book spoke to all my major loves. It sang to me on an elemental level. Having been an English Major with a minor in Religion who studied Arthurian Legend, mythology and courtly love, I never once dreamed of a contemporary romance novel handling those themes with such expert precision. Not to mention in such a toe-curling and unabashedly kinky way! I simultaneously geeked out over every literary mention-- from Elliott to Bronte to Tennyson. I'm absolutely blown away! Speechless! Sierra's mastery of the archetypes and themes is incredible. The entire series is flawlessly written and brilliantly executed! It's an experience I will savor and revisit often.

If you're a fan of EPIC stories of love and sacrifice you must read this series! Seriously, If you don't read anything else, you should read this!!

➦This is going to be short. Sierra Simone delivers such a lovely conclusion to the trilogy! Told from three different POVs, the story spans several years into the future and shows us the progression of relationship between the main characters.

➦It was interesting to see how Mr. President and his First Lady adapt to the new role of their lover. There are secrets revealed and problems dealt with. And in the midst of it all are steamy scenes which will leave you fanning yourself.

➦Let me tell you, every single time I've picked up a book from this series it put me in some kind of a zone. A trance, or something.

➦It's hard to explain but there's a definite feeling I associate with these books. And no, it's not arousal lol. Although, that too.

➦It's a bit of a heavy feeling. And this book, in particular, even made me cry... I guess it was because by the time this third installment released I was already fully in love with these characters.

➦Was my brain working overtime trying to figure out how this polygamous relationship was going to work out? May be. Did I, perhaps, think that the way it worked out was so out there that this stuff could never happen except in a book of fiction? Sure. BUT

➦You want erotica with a great plot and character development? Read this. But read my review of book 1 first because this might not be for everyone. Laterz.

“Being a secret child of a world leader? Winning a war? Having a child with your sister? The love between you, Embry and Greer? All of that seems common and unremarkable to you?”

The book tells us the fairytale of the extraordinary life of three extraordinary people:
• A powerful but humble King
• A graceful but naughty Queen
• A faithful but backstabber Knight

Thankfully, the King is also understanding and he is ready to forgive. And he is also so honorable that he is ready to step down from his throne in order to save the people that he loves the most in the world:

I have to trust -so much trust- that this sacrifice has meaning. That on a wicked day, when I fall to my knees, I will fall knowing that the world has shifted that much closer to peace and goodness. I will fall knowing the people I love are safe.

He will be ready to thank everybody and then disappear in the shadows of the earliest American history:

“Thank you for having me as your President. It’s been the greatest honor I can imagine.”

If I were a chain smoker, I would have probably smoked 454 cigarettes (as many as the book’s pages) before the end of the book.
The book has sexual tension and angst.

When you read it actually you may choose what parts exactly from the book stand out the most. The sex parts or the story parts.

Yes, there are numerous sex scenes in the book. Some readers may even think that it is one long sex scene with a few intervals that include an actual story. Greer, Emery and Maxen have so many scorching hot moments in every possible combination. You may just want to read those and forget the rest of the book. I believe it is understandable.

Yes, there is a complicated and mind-blowing story in the book. The author in fact tried to give her own interpretation to the story of Camelot. And (why not really?) correct the things that she did not like in the myth of Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot. I mean
...why should Arthur be betrayed by the two people that he loved the most?
...why should all of them end up broken and lonely?
…why can’t the three of them be in love?
…why can’t the three of them have a happy ending?

To be honest, when I read the ending of the book, I thought that the author was not brave enough. That she just wanted to make everyone happy and satisfied. And that this was not the end that she really wanted. Maybe she wanted a more tragic ending. After I read the AFTERWORD, I realized that this was her attempt to correct things. And I totally support this!

So, what I read was a balanced story. Each of Greer, Emery and Maxen has equal time in the story. I suppose the problem with most MMF romances is that they emphasize more the MM bond or the MF bond and one of the triad is usually neglected. I did not feel it in this story. The male characters and the female character were strong links of their common chain.
Moreover, although the sex scenes take a large part of the book, they mostly complement the story and emphasize the power exchange between the three characters. They are acts of devotion, love and internal need which require gratification.

I am overall very happy with this trilogy. I HIGHLY recommended it, if you are a fan of MMF romance. If on the other hand you have never read MM or MMF before, I believe this is the right trilogy for you to experiment and maybe leave your comfort zone for a while.

I honestly feel duped.

I didn't sign up for an MM love story, but this is what I got with this last installment.

A shame, because I LOVED the first 2 books.

Greer was a ghost in this book.

I loved the first 2 books BECAUSE of the throuple; I didn't want, nor did I expect to read something focused on
Greer and Embry, or
Greer and Ash, or
Ash and Embry.

I wanted to read about
Ash, Embry, and Greer.

The three of them TOGETHER.

But this third/final book overloaded me with Ash and Embry, and I honestly forgot Greer was even there...

I was looking forward to this conclusion, especially since I enjoyed the first two books so much, but this was a disappointment.

But I did sort of like the ending, and it deserves a star.

But the two previous books outperformed this one by a zillion miles.

I don't read MM... At least not any MM.

And this book felt like an MM story with some F thrown in, which is the worst kind of MM.

Not nice.

Sierra Simone delivers an eloquently written conclusion to this series. This is a tale that connects to the story of Camelot in which my fictional Professor West of Nina Lane’s series could have predicted a ton of events occurring. I however had to look up on Google for hints and even then this author throws her own twists and turns!

We have two powerful men, the president of the United States and the Vice President and the first lady. All three love one another deeply, this is a threesome relationship. I stink at connecting to these types of stories as I’m always looking for clues that one loves the other MORE yet the author does do a beautiful job of gifting the feelings equally in this triad.

There are several shocking events as the years go by for these three characters. I enjoyed the story, adored the author’s writing, and am pleased with how things connect and end for the KING, the PRINCE, and the QUEEN.

AMERICAN KING TEASE....

God, what I would have given. My kingdom. My soul, just to have Embry in front of me. I’d grab that jacket again, and then I’d push him down, shove his face into the carpet. Yank down his pants. How the fuck dare he, how the fuck dare he, and I’d seethe just that into his ear as I laid my body over his. I’d pin him down with a forearm to his neck, I’d make him feel every angry pound of me. I’d fuck him right in two.

Ever reread a book and then wonder, what the heck was I thinking? well this is that kind of book.

So I have been waiting with bated breath for this book, I literally had to check the publication date to make sure I did not miss it because I wanted to read it immediately it came out. Well, to borrow one of my friend's phrase, this book was a a complete"wackadoodle". Don't get me started on the stupidity of Ember in the last book after the rescue of Greer, which I completely overlooked and gave that book a glowing review, because I obviously smoking some insane mushrooms for me to even consider that sexy.

Then the whole bit with Ash and his sister, heck, the entire book. I have struggled, Lord, have I struggled to finish this book. I just can't do it. These people are the leaders of the country, acting like complete and utter idiots. I just can't deal. I was tempted to read the previous books and see why I rated it so high but I have decided that I would rather be stung by a thousand bees, step on an anthill and be sprayed by a skunk before subjecting my self to that torture.

I decided to leave this gif because it capture my reaction at the extended publication date and my absolute disdain for what this book is

"Once upon a time, there were two warriors who loved the same woman as much as they loved each other. And everything that happened afterwards led inevitably to tragedy.”

The ancient Arthurian tale may have faded on the ancient pages, but it gains immortality again on Sierra's Watch. Her romantic heart imbues fresh and must I mention kinky life into the legend.
You will feel the monarchical grandeur, sift through smoke and scars and crave at the Three Cornered Heart that is the foundation of New Camelot.
The King himself, Maxen Ashley Colchester, is larger than life. his control and sovereignty absolute and it's an honour to kneel for him, beside him, in between his legs. He has constitution of a natural Leader, his soul brave as a soldier and his Heart as big as the mountains .
Protector. Provider. Prevailer
Ever since he pulled the Sword from the rock in the fair,he is The Chosen One. His life filled with of violent turmoil and incessant burden .
But God never gives us more than we can bear. Ashley has wider shoulders and solid mettle than mere mortals

“The most important part of wearing a crown and using a sword is knowing when to set them down.”

description

There's Greer, Swan Graceful, Regal in demeanour and Natural submissive to her King. Her unquestioned Loyalty and love makes her the ultimate Guinevere. She's the perfect woman created to embrace the complexed relationship. Her reserved Beauty and Resilient Elegance making her a prized Diva and both Ash & Embry feel honoured to gain audience in her heart.

No one is beautiful like Greer, no one else has that same combination of regal poise and secret knowledge and fragility and joy. Electric and otherworldly woman

description

Then there's Embry Moore. The Youth Icon. The petulant, stubborn, rebel of a Prince. Ash's Little Prince
what happens between the three of us is unspoken, navigated spontaneously and in the moment, but there are always certain roles we magnetize to. Greer, the compliant. Ash, the master. Me, the mood-ring of a lover, shifting and changing depending on the day, the hour, the minute.three of us are thoughtless, reflexive beasts, joined so elementally that there’s no separating us. We are one, we are one, and my body burns and sings with the truth.

description

The peripheral characters lend balance and support throughout. Merlin is by far most intriguing. he's the actual narrator and Foreteller. Carrying enough burden for 7 lives, he is the moral compass of the story. Appearing at crucial junctures he never assumes control but is always in control. The time follows him cuz he's that immortal !!
The story is Beyond Expectations Brilliant. The Chalice of Emotions full to the brim runneth over!!
I went through a myriad of feels. from frustrations to anger to Arousal to love to heartbreak to betrayal and landed up numb. Because reading the book will steal all your breaths and tears. And then some !
Couple of times, actually more, my heart just stopped. No heart beat, no life, just silent stillness. I had to step away periodically to catch my breath and let the oversurge of sentiments just seep in before I poured more. My heart and soul both are so saturated with immense love .
Sierra writes with such Literary Expertise, that words of passions and affections touch you physically. You can feel the goosebumping tenderness, the worshipping Love and ultimate surrender of Devotion on your skin, in your body in your heart and in your soul !!!
The words just jump off the pages and nestle in your subconscious, you forget you're reading a story, instead you start living it and breathing it. You can feel the cold wet soil of Carpathia on your knees, or broken shards of glass on your finger, or chilling calm of a fog engulfed lake.
You will feel it all
You will see it all
You will sense it all
because you, like me are IN THE STORY
That's how Effectual Sierra's writing is !!
It shall be written in the scars of our hearts that Maxen Ashley Colchester is a Giant among men. Divine Love among impudent lovers and Majestic Arthur among subjects.
When he says kneel, we kneel
When he asks for devotion and Obedience, we say........
Yes Sir, I promise

Thank you Sierra for your gift of writing, narrating and casting a spell on us with your timeless words.

PERFECTION, EMOTIONAL, COMPLEX, WONDERFUL, AMAZING.......American King was a spectacular ending to the New Camelot Trilogy. From the very first page to the very last page, I was completely enamored with how the author wrote a poetic, lyrical love story of three souls that were entwined with one another in all parts of their lives. Their minds, their bodies and their souls were connected on a deeply profound and passionate level. A three way love that was completely perfect in every way. This story was complex with many moving parts. The author fulfilled the destiny that was preordained with the unfolding of the past and present. A story that spans over 20 years.

I can’t stress enough how powerful the author writes her words. They are vivid, passionate, alluring, emotional......they come from characters who love one another completely. While this triangle should offer doubts it does the opposite. It offers perfection.

President Maxen “Ash” Colchester, Greer Colchester, and Former Vice President Embry Moore are a trinity. Their love, their passion, their kink are of another realm. Getting Ash’s view in this book ties in the story from all sides. His is a King among men and his nobility and fierce loyalty to those he loves and to his country are of epic proportions. He is the President, He’s Greer’s Husband, He’s her Dominant, She is his Queen and Embry.....is still His and will always be his Little Prince. But, there are always buts and this book has many. Good buts, bad buts and some very sexy buts that will leave you breathless because while the sex is very hot and sensual, it is also filled with intense love. The complexity of the Presidency, the issues of war, Embry running against Ash for President, Abilene and her evilness and Greer the Queen who ties the King to his Prince fill this book with issues that Ash must face head on. His past and present and the man he truly is comes full circle. His journey, his life, his destiny are what legends are made of.

What I want to say is this trilogy is a MustRead. It captivates and enchants. It’s a love story of epic proportions. A story that penetrates deep with intimate convictions of love, sacrifice and commitment. You will forever remember Ash, Greer and Embry.

This is a 5 Star Trilogy ❤️⭐️❤️⭐️❤️⭐️❤️⭐️❤️

5 stars!

Put a fork in me. I’m done. American King officially slayed me! It is the heart-pounding, breathtaking conclusion to the New Camelot Trilogy. It delivered the fatal blow after pummeling my emotions, but American King just might be my favorite book of the three. As a side note, the trilogy is extremely intricate, with multiple players and cliffhangers galore. For maximum enjoyment, I suggest readers clear their schedules and devote a good chunk of time to reading the three books back to back.

Ash—the President, Sir, and King—is one of the most magnetic characters I’ve come across in recent memory. I’ve been eager to know his thoughts on the unconventional love triangle between him, Greer, and Embry, and it is well worth the wait.

American King revolves around Ash’s current re-election campaign, but there are also flashbacks sprinkled liberally throughout. Frankly, I’m not a huge fan of interspersed flashbacks. In this case, though, it works. Much of the history concerns events that already occurred in the previous books. Knowing Ash’s perspective gives depth and clarity to the character motivations.

The dynamics between Ash, Embry, and Greer defy explanation. They are bound together in a wonderfully addictive relationship. Holy Mother of Hates! This book is off the heat chart in terms of kink. I love that the sex isn’t just there for the sake of smutty sex. It enhances the overall plot and serves to validate the emotions of everyone involved.

Merlin has always been a fascinating enigma, and I’m so glad he’s back and just as cryptic as ever. Morgan and Abilene also return with their dubious intentions.

Hello Angst, my old friend. All the suspense and astonishing revelations blew my mind, and my poor heart could barely handle the amount of stirring moments. I was destroyed. And I liked it.

This tantalizing saga is powerful and all consuming—not to mention flawlessly written. I’m thrilled that the series ends on such a strong note, but I’m sad to say goodbye to so many compelling characters.

Title: American King (New Camelot Trilogy #3)
Author: Sierra Simone
Genre: Romance, Erotica
Publication Date: October 31, 2017

Note: Read The first two books: American Queen #1 and American Prince #2

I devoured this series within a day. A DAY! I am not ashamed to say that I skipped my classes and binged read all three books. And HOLY BATMAN!!!! How did I not read the first two books before this one came out is beyond me. Stupid girl!
I can't even fathom how Sierra Simone created such an amazing world! I am speechless! It was such an unconventionally epic love story! Truly one of Kind.

She has turned the love of three souls from a taboo into a love of such epic proportion that you can't help but pray that they survive. You can't help but hope that you get to see their future. I wept so much, fell in love so hard with these characters- For their love for each other and the sacrifices they had to endure along the way.

It truly was poetically devastatingly beautiful!

American King is the third and final book in the New Camelot series. It is full of angst, tension, secrets, lies, and love.

This book picks up right where book two had left us. On the cliffhanger of Embry leaving the Whitehouse, Ash, and Greer and deciding to run against him in the next election. Embry does disclose to Ash that he is being blackmailed by Greer's cousin Abilene, and he is trying to protect him from the secret she has discovered from being exposed to the public. While the days pass by of the three not being together, the preparation, and the running of the campaign, we get a look into Ash's past. We are taken back to show the significant events in his childhood that shaped his sexuality, his sense of honor, and the man he became.

My boy and my girl, my prince and my princess. Mine and mine and mine forever.

My love for the two of you exists inside your love for each other—when you love each other, you are loving me.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to read this last book as this series is a masterpiece. The only thing that stands out to me is that I wasn't ready and didn't want it to come to an end. The last three chapters had me in a chokehold, and many tears were shed. It was brought to an end with the perfect epilogue, which was the perfect ending to their story! This has easily become one of my favorite series! If you haven't read these, run and do it. It does not disappoint!

Overall 4 Stars for the series. Probably 3.5 for this one.

I feel like this series deteriorated as the books went on. It started out really good. The political background, the three main characters, the development of their relationship. I was intrigued, I was invested.

By the end of the second book, it was less about their relationship and more about other things. The drama ramped up, I didn't feel as much for their relationship as three, after all there never really was one. It was more their individual relationships/dynamics with each other.

This book, ugh I don't know. It took a turn for the weird. Not really sure I care for the direction it went and how it all played out. Was there an HEA? I just don't know what to think. It kind of just left me going...huh?

I never really felt the connection for the three of them. I felt the most connection between Ash and Embry. #shockingiknow

I don't know. Ultimately, on the surface, it was entertaining and engaging. I pretty much read all three books back to back within a matter of days. So there is that. But if I delve too deep or think about things too hard, there are a lot of things I disliked....especially as the series went on.

After reading American Prince I was looking for more of that raw sexual heat that these characters have between them. We definitely got some amazing scenes with them but I would have loved to see them together more than we did. It felt like the majority of the book was focused on the drama unfolding and it was almost pushing the characters out of focus.

My rating was actually very close to being a 3 Star because I wanted more of Ash, Embry, and Greer and less of the drama llamas running around. But that ending came in and saved this book for me. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better ending for this story and I couldn't have guessed what happened which is always a good thing in books.

Overall, this series is a series that I would recommend for anyone that likes something more on the dirty side.

I was given this Book an exchange for an Honest review
When I first got this book I cried because this book is the end of this series. This was a beautifully written book that had me unable to sleep or eat I think I got maybe 6 hours sleep in 2 days. This is book 3 in the "New Camelot Trilogy" and what a book it is. This book picks up where book 2 "American Prince" left off with Embry The Vice President of U.S. telling his lover Maxen "Ash" Colchester who is The President of the United States that he is leaving him and running against him in the next election, he also tells him that he is being blackmailed by that witch and about and a son he didn't know he had. This book was painful to read too me I love these three. I also loved that we were able to read about past events in Ash's life he never felt unwanted or unloved even when he learned about his father. As a teen when he first discovered he liked boys and girls and how he was a virgin until he met Morgan and his side of the relationship with both Embry and Greer and how he fell in love with both of them at first sight. Ash also felt guilty for a lot of things in his life and one of them was Morgan and his son Lyr. We also learned more about his relationship with his first wife Jenny and how he felt when she died. We also got to see how Ash was trained to be a Dominant and he had a scene with Embry that was hot. We also learned a lot about Merlin and why he did the things he did for Ash and to Ash and Embry. I also loved that even though they were running against each other Embry and Ash are still in love with each other and after each debate they got together and had some really hot sex. I loved how Greer handled that witch of a cousin of hers. I also loved the whole King Arthur Sir. Lancelot and Guinevere theme that was running through this book and I could see them in each of these character's. Ash felt that Embry and Greer needed time to grow to love each other without him and it was one of the reasons he did what he did. This book and series had drama tears and a lot of hot sweaty sex scenes. Ash is the King and a King will do anything to protect his Queen and his Prince. I am so glad that this book had a happy ending. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. If you love reading M/M/F with a drama twist than I recommend that you read this series starting with "American Queen" this is not a stand along series. I am looking forward to listening to this book on audio. God I loved this book and cried and laughed.

I want to know this isn’t in vain.
I want to know my life wasn’t in vain.

4 ★'s

“It belongs there. It always belonged there, Ash. It should have been your ring from the beginning.”

And that quote about sums up my feelings for this entire series. I've felt it right from the beginning and reading Ash's book only confirmed it. Hands down he loved both of them but he was only ever in love with one person.

But then maybe that's just how it came across to me...maybe that's what I was searching for. I KNOW I was searching for answers and we do get a lot of them in this book.

We get a lot of Ash's history and finally, finally some answers about his relationship with Jenny. (Although I felt that if it was totally left up to Ash, he would've waited for someone forever.)

I was happy and a little confused at some of the threesome activities after certain events. I think it was what Embry so desperately needed but sometimes it felt that he would only get that if Greer was involved. I really don't know.

I was very shocked at Abilene's chapter...wasn't expecting it and it was so sad and freakin' depressing. It makes you wonder how she could be so delusional. But it certainly made things easier for the events that came after.

Merlin is back being sketchy but this time, he's more open about it. It's a stretch for sure but the whole King Arthur tie in is more understandable after reading the author's notes. It was just hard for me to keep some of the characters straight!

And then we get to the ending...yes, I cried and yes, I was pissed and happy all rolled into one. What a great twist!

Merlin's call at the end was perfect and I did like how everything wrapped up. So overall, I'm happy with the story, I just really wanted more of the threesome relationship.

“My love for the two of you exist inside your love for each other - when you love each other, you are loving me.”

6 stars for the series. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of my top ten reads of all time.

I'm on hour one of my book hangover and so far, so good. I've finally stopped crying, so there's that.

For two solid weeks, this series owned me. I wasn't just reading it, I felt like I was breathing it. I connected with these characters hard, which surprises me because on the surface, they are not relatable, but beneath, at their core, I totally and completely understood them—maybe not at first, but eventually—every bad decision, every act of cruelty, every sacrifice that had me throwing my phone because they seemed so self-indulgent at the time. And that is the beauty of this series. The ability to witness the same events as they unfold, through three sets of eyes. What made me angry as hell in one book, made me beam in another—discovering that actions I’d deemed as cruel and heartless were anything but.

The love story is epic. The writing is beautiful. The execution is genius. My heart broke and broke and broke, and through it all, I chose the pain. And as I sit here trying to figure out what the hell I follow it with, I eye American Queen, thinking I might just choose the pain again.

Two soldier boys in love. The princess they both wanted. How close we were to our happily ever after, how near it seemed.

As a girl who is clueless to the Camelot story/ myth and only some names sound familiar and nothing more, I felt like I went blind into these series. I couldn't notice the similarities with the original story and that maybe gave me no insight what was going to follow or what probably had happened. I do feel like knowing more about the original Lancelot/ Arthur etc story though.

Perhaps Embry's always had the part of me that wielded the sword, but she... she's always owned the part that wears the crown.

This series has made me feel conflicted and the funny thing wasn't the menage, but I don't know if I liked it or I didn't. Yes, I loved how their romance and their story was built, I loved the war elements, the political ones and overall, I think it's a story that will stay with me. Still, I had some minor issues and I caught myself wanting to finish them so I can move on, but I was also invested in these characters. I don't make much sense, huh? Trust me , I know. But because this one made me feel more intense emotions and the acknowledgements in the end, were very illuminating in some aspects also from the previous books, so I'm going to give it an extra star.

"...being able to make someone happy with the mere act of loving them how they wished to be loved felt like a gift"

Have you ever wished a Hero from a book could be real before?

To say I adored Ash would be a huge understatement. From the first book right until the very end he stayed true to himself. The brave soldier, the fierce lover, the loyal King...he was everything and seeing how much he loved Greer and Embry at times almost overwhelmed me and I had to stop reading and just take a breath.

"I've never wondered before what it would look for someone to have their whole world in their eyes, never even thought to wonder. But Ash right now, kneeling and gazing at Greer and me -
His whole world is in his eyes."

I loved every second of this book (this trilogy) and if Sierra told us she was writing 3 more books I probably would drop to my knees in thanks.

This book definitely had a lot of steam but somehow it never felt overdone because the connection that's been built over the last 15-20 years is so strong that every scene these characters have together has meaning.

I could keep on going with how much I loved these books and characters but I'll probably embarrass myself. I so wish I'd been brave enough to read these books years ago.

I need to reread the first two books because it has been such a long time, but I finally finished this book and totally forgot how epic this trilogy was. I still would have preferred it to be a MM instead of MMF, but either way it was such a great story and trilogy

top pick

This book completely obliterated me! I knew it would, but I had NO IDEA how much! Those of you who have been DYING, waiting for American King to release...the wait it over! You are free to get your heart eviscerated once again! And those of you who haven’t started the New Camelot Trilogy yet...what in God’s name are you doing, sitting here reading this?! Go on! I can’t even begin to tell you how much you need this EPIC TRILOGY in your life! You will LIVE IT, BREATH IT, EMBRACE IT! It will become a part of you in every single way. You will have trouble eating, sleeping, concentrating throughout the day. Am I selling it yet? LOL! But in all honesty, if you are looking for an unconventional romance that will change your world, look no further! The romance book community will be talking about these characters and their story for a VERY long time!

I’ve read many trilogies in my lifetime, and not one has left me reeling like this one did. That’s not to say there wasn’t a happily ever after, because there definitely was, and IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING, UNFORGETTABLE, and EPIC! Just know that your heart, mind, and soul WILL take a beating in order to get to that HEA we all hope for. Sierra Simone has OUTDONE herself with AMERICAN KING! I don’t know how she stays sane while sharing these stories with us, but hats off to her and a HUGE THANK YOU for bringing these characters into our lives!
